One Sun, One World, One Grid
The rise of global climate change and pollution levels is not a new concept now. Hence, the need to adopt to eco friendly options becomes more important than ever.
That's is why Introduction of Clean energy systems are crucial for development of any country.
The example of India's One Sun, One World, One Grid project can lead as an idea.
The major highlight of the project is it aims to unify the whole system of Clean energy.
The vision is to create a solar powered grid system that can be accessed globally in case of need of electricity.
By this, we can achieve the growth and the healing of the environment not just locally but on a global scale as well.
The whole project idea was introduced in the International solar alliance summit in the year 2018.
India's net zero target
India is getting up to speed with conservation issues. And its also among the rising economies.
The rise of the economy also witnesses a rise in industries which needs proper addressing of carbon footprint.
Hence, India is committed to be net zero by 2070. The major issues it has pledged to tackle for the plan ahead are :
- It plans to increase the non fossil fuel energy sectors and swapping it with clean and renewable energy systems.
- Reduction of carbon emissions by one billion tonnes and cut the carbon intensity by 45% in the coming years.
- Phasing out the dependency on coal for industrial activities and Introduction of electric vehicles to reduce air pollution.
Introduction of subsidies to adopt renewable energy
Renewable energy contributes in development of a harmonious environment.
In many ways, it reduces the impact of fossil fuels on pollution and climate .
Use of fossil fuels have often been debated and acknowledged as the source of alarming concern for environment.
Hence UK has devised a new way to influence people to adopt renewable energy systems.
It has been observed in analysis of data that people who were given subsidies for installation of solar panels were more likely to install them.
It is proved that if using environment friendly methods are rewarded by the Government, then people too will easily adopt them without any mental barriers.
The new hope for rising electronic waste
Increase in the usage of technology has paved the way to huge piles of electronic wastes.
This e waste remains intact in landfills and garbage disposals units without any proper way for them to be recycled.
A tech startup ‘Pentaform’ has devised a unique way to manage this e-waste issue. They have created AquaFade – a water soluble plastics to make electronic product casing and circuit board .Most of these plastics will dissolve in water after use.
The solution of using biodegradable plastics to make electronic products can aid in e waste management worldwide.
